BBF Limited

COVID-19 Update

Date: 30th March 2020

As part of the UK food supply chain, BBF has been classified as an essential service and all at BBF are responding to that challenge in the fight against COVID-19. Our top priorities during this time are keeping our colleagues safe, feeding the nation and protecting the business.

The health and wellbeing of our staff and their families is of the highest importance.  All employees at BBF are classified as key workers and to protect our key workers, we have introduced a range of safety measures, obviously social distancing and where this isn’t fully possible, additional PPE and implementing screens for those who work in close proximity in our bakeries. Where possible support staff are working from home. We will continue to work hard and do all we can during this time.

We have seen massive pressure on the supermarkets to maintain supply in stores over the last couple of weeks leading to increased demand for the products we make. We as a business have responded to the challenge really well, and we will need to retain this flexibility over the next few weeks.

Finally, these are unprecedented times for everyone. In these circumstances, the food supply chain is more robust than many others who unfortunately have been shut down. Our sales volume in certain categories has now dropped back, and our service level continues to be very good. We will get through this crisis if we continue with the attendance, attitude and commitment that our teams have shown over recent weeks.

Thank you for your dedication and commitment.
