We are delighted to support BBF with this deal, which once again showcases our expertise in acquiring non-core assets from large corporates and is a great way to start 2018.”

M&S Plan A Silver Accreditation

Posted on January 24, 2018

Fantastic news, this week both the Blackburn and Shadsworth bakeries have been accredited with M&S Plan A Silver.  This really is brilliant recognition of how BBF ‘do business’ from these sites, in the best interest of colleagues, our environment and to create a sustainable business for the future. This strengthens our relationship with M&S, following fantastic service and quality for Christmas 2017.

A huge amount of work has gone in to preparing for this audit, by many people across both sites – a massive team effort. The team of auditors were really impressed with what has been put in place over the last 6 months, which needs to be embedded over the next 12 months.

A big thank you to everyone who joined in with the World’s biggest coffee morning at BBF.

Congratulations to Anwar Miah who was the winner of the savoury category, and also to Inese Gailite, who was the sweet champion for the second year running!! Congratulations to both.

Thank you to everyone who brought in sweet / savoury treats and especially to those who baked / cooked themselves, your efforts made the day a huge success.

Most importantly, across the UK business, we raised a fantastic £1,586 for MacMillan which is a brilliant achievement and almost double the amount last year.

Well done.

Following extensive judging, BBF was selected as a finalist in this year’s Baking Industry Awards for the category of ‘Bakery Manufacturer of the Year’.

Beating off stiff competition, we made it to the final round where, unfortunately, we just lost out to Macphie, an ingredient manufacturer based in Scotland.

The three finalists were made up of ourselves, Bells of Lazonby and Macphie.
